You do not have to purchase Monugrid for existing markers. However, all new markers have the Monugrid foundation system installed beneath them to prevent them from sinking in the future. The cemetery charges a setting (installation) fee Monugrid is included in this fee.
Extra decorations are allowed from Memorial Day through Father's Day. All decorations must be placed on the grave markers or in line with the grave markers. Extra decorations outside the marker rows will be removed. All additional decorations must be removed by June 30th.
No, you don't have to purchase your marker from us. However, the cemetery has marker requirements that must be met regardless of where you obtain your marker, and we reserve the right to set (install) all grave markers. For more information about our by-laws, please contact the cemetery office.
No. We have a flower placement program (Spring-Autumn) and a wreath placement program (Winter) available to you, but you aren't required to purchase from us. You follow cemetery guidelines regarding placement, removal dates, and placement requirements.
Yes, pre-planning for grave markers, lots, and the opening and closing of burial sites is available. Please call or e-mail the office to schedule an appointment.
For fresh flowers, place them on the marker. You may place plastic or silk flower stems in the ground, to the left or right of the marker. Some pre-made bouquets come in a plastic vase, and you may bring or purchase a flower stand to place them in. Please adhere to the placement at the right or left of the marker. We understand that some markers don't have enough space to do this. If so, place your bouquet at the top of the marker and keep it as close to the granite as possible.
We sell emblems for markers, flower bouquets, and stands, grave markers, military flag holders, monugrid foundations for markers, vase assemblies, and winter wreaths.
Monugrid is a grid and stone foundation system that helps keep grave markers from sinking. This foundation system is installed beneath all new markers in the cemetery.
Weather permitting, flowers may be placed beginning April 15th. On occasion, this date is pushed back due to a late winter. If you're unsure if the date has changed, please call or e-mail the cemetery office before placing flowers.
Flowers must be removed by October 31st.
Wreaths must be removed by March 15th, weather permitting. It's possible the ground may still be frozen at this time. If you're unsure whether you'll be able to remove your wreath, call or e-mail the cemetery to find out if the wreath removal date has been pushed back.
The cemetery needs time in the late winter/early spring to prepare the grounds for the season.
The majority of marker vases don't have an outlet for water, and the ones that do may be clogged and frozen shut during the winter. Once the vase becomes full of ice, the expansion and contraction due to temperature changes effectively "works" or hardens the bronze, making it brittle. Over time the bronze will crack, sometimes splitting the sides of the vase open.
The cemetery is not responsible for damaged vases unless we cause the damage. Bronze vases are expensive to replace and many people don't have the funds readily available. To protect the vases from undue harm and prevent unforeseen expenses for families, they are turned down on November 1st. Any vase found turned up after November 1st through March 31st will be turned down and its contents removed.
We inter all winter long. Once frozen to the ground, grave blankets can't be moved. If your grave blanket lies in the path we must use to access a burial site, it will be destroyed in the pursuit of laying someone to rest. We no longer allow grave blankets to best facilitate winter burials and avoid destroying someone's remembrance.
We love our customers, so feel free to visit during normal business hours.
